The west coast of Scotland has some of the most dramatic scenery in the United Kingdom where numerous lochs cut in to the mountainous coastline. The popular resort of Oban is a busy fishing port set in a sheltered curving esplanade and dominated by McCaigs Tower, an unfinished replica of Romes Colosseum. From here there are fine views of the Isle of Mull with its breath taking scenery and abundance of wildlife.
Our base in Oban is the comfortable ROYAL HOTEL located in the centre of the town close to the harbour. Dating from 1895, the Royal offers traditional Scottish hospitality within quality modern surroundings. There is a restaurant overlooking the Town Square and a lounge bar where drinks and snacks are available throughout the day. All of the en suite bedrooms feature tv, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. A passenger lift serves all floors but please note there are some steps to negotiate in and around the public areas so the hotel may not be suitable for the very elderly / infirm.
