The Inner Hebridean islands offer a rich cultural heritage and stunning seascapes, with castles, bays and beautiful beaches waiting to be explored. Our two-centred tour incorporates the wonderful islands of Arran, Mull and Iona. The Isle of Arran (Scotland in Miniature ) has imposing peaks and tranquil lochs, Mull offers wonderful wildlife and pristine beaches whilst idyllic Iona is one of the most sacred places to visit in the Inner Hebrides .
Our base on the Isle of Arran will be the very comfortable family owned BEST WESTERN KINLOCH HOTEL which enjoys a spectacular location overlooking the Mull of Kintyre. Features of the hotel include a lounge/bar and restaurant with sea views which is very popular with local residents and has a reputation for serving quality locally sourced produce. There is also a swimming pool and sauna. All of the en suite bedrooms have tv, telephone, hairdryer, ironing board and hospitality tray. A passenger lift serves some but not all bedrooms; limited ground floor bedrooms are available.
For the remainder of the tour we will be based in Oban at the ROYAL HOTEL located in the centre of the town close to the harbour. Dating from 1895, the Royal offers traditional Scottish hospitality within quality modern surroundings. There is a restaurant overlooking the Town Square and a lounge bar where drinks and snacks are available throughout the day. All of the en suite bedrooms feature tv, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. A passenger lift serves all floors but please note there are some steps to negotiate in and around the public areas so the hotel may not be suitable for the very elderly/infirm.
Tuesday 2nd July
Departing Newark early morning, we proceed northwards into Yorkshire, over the scenic Pennines before crossing the border into Scotland at Gretna. We then continue through Dumfries and
Galloway to Ardrossan where we board our ferry to Broddick on the Isle of Arran and our base for the next 3 nights – the Best Western Kinloch Hotel located at Blackwaterfoot on the beautiful ‘sunset’ side of the island.
Wednesday 3rd – Thursday 4th July
Scheduled excursions during our stay will include the following:
• Scenic tour of the north of Arran which is often referred to as ‘Scotland in Miniature’ with its mountains, lochs and rolling hills and meadows. Our tour will include a visit to the Arran Distillery at Lochranza for a 45 minute tour and wee dram!

We depart our hotel and travel north to catch our ferry from Lochranza to Claonaig Bay on Kintyre. After free time in the picturesque village of Tarbert we continue north alongside the western shore of Loch Fyne into Argyll and our base in Oban for the next 3 nights - the Royal Hotel.
Saturday 6th July
Today we cross the Firth of Lorne by ferry to Mull, the third largest Scottish island. Travelling through dramatic peaks via Glen More we reach Fionnphort from where we board a foot ferry for
the short sea crossing to the tranquil Isle of Iona. Full of history and heritage, Iona is the burial place of many Scottish Kings and is believed to be the birthplace of Christianity.
