Grange-over-Sands & The Southern Lake District

Grange-over-Sands & The Southern Lake District

5 Days from £349

The beautiful Southern Lake District is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home to Scafell Pike (England’s highest mountain) and Wastwater (its deepest lake). Set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay the charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands offers one of the mildest climates in the North of England, The advent of the Furness Railway transformed this once former fishing village into a fashionable seaside town which now boasts a traffic free promenade, ornamental gardens, brass band concerts and vantage points for bird watching.

Our base in Grange-over-Sands is the once again the comfortable CUMBRIA GRAND HOTEL which is set in 25 acres of gardens and woodland with many rooms enjoying panoramic views over Morecambe Bay and beyond to the Yorkshire Dales. The hotel dates back to Victorian times and features a restaurant, lounge bar with open fire, tennis courts, snooker table and large ballroom. All of the en suite bedrooms feature tv, hairdryer, telephone and hospitality tray. A passenger lift serves all floors.
